What is Relaxation Therapy?

The body and mind can heal itself if given the right conditions and Relaxation Therapy helps to restore balance and create the right conditions for this to happen.

In Relaxation therapy there is a range of different techniques used to create a deep state of relaxation and some of them date back thousands of years.

Relaxation therapies are non-intrusive and gentle and can help many problems and conditions.

An example of one of the techniques used is Guided Imagery.

Guided Imagery can help to promote a sense of peace and tranquillity as it forms a balance between the mind, spirit and body. It can have a notable effect on the heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, oxygen consumption, brain waves, body temperature, intestinal motility and hormonal balances; therefore helping conditions such as cardiac symptoms, headaches, gastrointestinal disorders and respiratory conditions to name but a few.

Relaxation Therapy is possibly one of the best non-intrusive therapies which can help nearly any health problem and can be practised anywhere and anytime
